Microfibres, mostly obtained from home laundry, textiles, industrial materials, sewage effluents, and sludge, are considered the main source of environmental pollution, which has become a prevalent threat to terrestrial and aquatic creatures. Global population growth and industrialization have led to a rise in fibre consumption and production, which spread its network in drinking water, beer, and seafood. Focusing on the alarming threat of microfibre towards the natural environment, we have penned an extensive review article about microfibre pollution.

Background: Characterizing the condition of patients suffering from knee osteoarthritis is complex due to multiple associations between clinical, functional, and structural parameters. While significant variability exists within this population, especially in candidates for total knee arthroplasty, there is increasing interest in knee kinematics among orthopedic surgeons aiming for more personalized approaches to achieve better outcomes and satisfaction. The primary objective of this study was to identify distinct kinematic phenotypes in total knee arthroplasty candidates and to compare different methods for the identification of these phenotypes.

Background: Ingestion of alkaline substances should not be disregarded because a small amount can cause chemical burns in the esophagus, with esophageal stricture being the most common late complication.

Methods: We enrolled children with alkaline corrosive damage receiving treatment at China Medical University Children's Hospital's emergency department between 2008 and 2018. Patients were divided into groups A (ingested causative agents other than alkaline oil), and B (ingested alkaline oil).

Background: Quantitative assessments of an individual's functional status commonly involve the use of movement quality metrics.

Research Question: The purpose of this work was to quantify the reliability of movement quality metrics in healthy adults during a variety of unconstrained activities of daily living (ADLs).

Methods: Nineteen participants performed six ADLs (lifting a laundry basket, applying deodorant, turning a doorknob, placing a pill in a pillbox, placing a pushpin in a bulletin board, and drinking water from a glass) during two separate sessions.
