Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is a severe malignant tumor of the digestive system that poses a significant threat to human health. Despite its significance, the complex molecular mechanism regulating the occurrence and development of ESCC remain elusive. The apolipoprotein B mRNA editing enzyme catalytic polypeptide-like 3 (APOBEC3) members constitute a pivotal subfamily of the APOBEC family that possess cytidine deaminase activity.

The mechanisms underlying antigen receptor germline gene diversification have always been a topic of intensive study. Here, we discovered that the frequency of stem-loop sequences in the antigen receptor germline gene region is remarkably higher than the genomic background. By analyzing these stem-loop sequences' similarity and distribution patterns, we found that clustered regularly interspaced homologous stem-loop pairs (CRIHSP) are widely present on the germline genes of antigen receptors in different species.

DNA polymerases frequently misincorporate ribonucleoside 5'-triphosphates into nascent DNA strands. This study examined the effects of an incorporated ribonucleoside on untargeted mutations in human cells. Riboguanosine (rG) was introduced into the downstream region of the gene to preferentially detect the untargeted mutations.

Extrinsic apoptotic network is driven by Death Ligand (DL)-mediated activation of procaspase-8. Recently, we have developed the first-in class small molecule, FLIPinB, which specifically targets the key regulator of extrinsic apoptosis, the protein c-FLIP, in the caspase-8/c-FLIP heterodimer. We have shown that FLIPinB enhances DL-induced caspase-8 activity and apoptosis.

To reduce the risk of side effects and enhance therapeutic efficiency, drug delivery systems that offer precise control over active ingredient release while minimizing burst effects are considered advantageous. In this study, a novel approach for the controlled release of lamivudine (LV) was explored through the fabrication of polyelectrolyte-coated microparticles. LV was covalently attached to poly(ε-caprolactone) via ring-opening polymerization, resulting in a macromolecular prodrug (LV-PCL) with a hydrolytic release mechanism.
