Topological magnetic skyrmions with helicity state degrees of freedom in centrosymmetric magnets possess great potential for advanced spintronics applications and quantum computing. Till date, the skyrmion study in this class of materials mostly remains focused to collinear ferromagnets with uniaxial magnetic anisotropy. Here, we present a combined theoretical and experimental study on the competing magnetic exchange-induced evolution of noncollinear magnetic ground states and its impact on the skyrmion formation in a series of centrosymmetric hexagonal noncollinear magnets, MnFeCoGe.

Background: Perry syndrome (PS) is a rare and fatal hereditary autosomal dominant neurodegenerative disorder caused by mutations in dynactin (DCTN1). PS brains accumulate inclusions positive for ubiquitin, transactive-response DNA-binding protein of 43 kDa (TDP-43), and to a lesser extent dynactin.
Objectives: Little is known regarding the contributions of TDP-43, an RNA binding protein that represses cryptic exon inclusion, in PS.
Background: There has been a recent proliferation of various quantities based on single shell Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) for capturing overall cerebrovascular health, especially Small Vessel Disease (SVD) as a single number. The existing literature has gaps in the comparison of these measures, so we evaluated them as predictors of both current and future White Matter Hyperintensity (WMH) as a proxy of SVD.
Method: Using baseline 3T MRI examinations (T1, DTI, FLAIR scans) of 598 participants (>60 years, amyloid negative, to limit to those on the SVD pathway) from the Mayo Clinic Study of Aging, we calculated five summary DTI quantities with varying degree of complexity.

Background: Atypical presentations of Alzheimer's disease (AD), which demonstrate more cortical involvement relative to medial temporal lobe (MTL), are generally associated with younger age of onset. Age, defined chronologically, is a primary driver of AD pathology and neurodegeneration. However, some young onset cases are typical, amnestic presentations and some older onset cases present more cortical atrophy.

An apparent outbreak of fenugreek forage toxicosis occurred in a beef cattle herd near Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in February-May 2022. The herd had consumed fenugreek hay from late fall to early winter. Clinical signs included various degrees of weakness, ataxia, knuckling, walking on hocks, and recumbency.
