Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are recognized as the second most common medical condition, following respiratory infections. Despite the availability of numerous efficacious antibiotics for the management of UTIs, the rising incidence of bacterial resistance presents significant challenges in the treatment of these infections. Bacteria are endowed with the ability to reproduce and develop resistance mechanisms against antibiotics.

The research used bacterial biosensors containing bacterial luciferase genes to monitor changes in the environment in real-time. In this work to express four different gene constructs: recA:luxCDABE, soxS:luxCDABE, micF:luxCDABE, and rpoB:luxCDABE in Escherichia coli SM lux biosensor after exposure to three different antibiotics (nalidixic acid, ampicillin, kanamycin) and diclofenac was determined. It was found that incubation of the E.

Objective: This study used whole-genome sequencing (WGS) to explore the genetic diversity, virulence factors, and antimicrobial resistance determinants of string test-positive (KP) over a 4-year surveillance period in Huzhou, China.
Methods: In total, 632 clinical isolates were collected via hospital surveillance from 2020 to 2023; 100 were positive in the string test and these 100 strains were subjected to antimicrobial susceptibility testing using an agar dilution method followed by WGS.
Results: The resistance rates to cefotaxime (77.

Unlabelled: Quinolone-resistant have been increasing worldwide. Quinolones exert their antibacterial activity by inhibiting DNA gyrase, but most of the isolates acquire quinolone resistance via an amino acid substitution in the A subunit of DNA gyrase. WQ-3810 is a quinolone antibiotic that has been reported to have high potency even to DNA gyrase with amino acid substitutions in several bacterial species; however, there was no information on .
