According to the fluorescence internal filtering effect (IFE), the more the absorption spectrum of the quencher overlaps with the excitation and emission spectra of the fluorescent substance, the better the quenching effect and, correspondingly, the more significant and sensitive the contrast becomes when the fluorescence is turned on. Thus, in the competitive fluorescence-quenching lateral flow immunoassays (FQ-LFIAs), the fluorescence quencher with an outstanding optical property is of great importance. Herein, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and polydopamine (PDA) coengineered covalent organic frameworks (COF/Au@PDA) were synthesized as a fluorescence quencher to increase spectral overlap.

Carbazolyl-Decorated Metal-Organic Framework with a High Fluorescent Quantum Yield for Detection and Photocatalytic Degradation of Organic Contaminants.

Inorg Chem

November 2024

State Key Laboratory of Supramolecular Structure and Materials, Institute of Theoretical Chemistry, College of Chemistry, Jilin University, Changchun 130021, P.R. China.

A carbazolyl-based fluorescent metal-organic framework with deep-blue light emission and a high quantum yield (88%) has been screened out by changing the ratio of mixed ligands, named Cz-MOF-2, which was constructed by ZrO(OH) clusters, 3-(9-ethyl-9-carbazol-3-yl)-4-methylthieno[2,3-]thiophene-2,5-dicarboxylate (HECMTDC) and 3,4-dimethyl-dihydrothieno[2,3-]thiophene-2,5-dicarboxylate (HDMTDC). Cz-MOF-2 has excellent sensitivity in fluorescent sensing of 2,6-dichloro-4-nitroaniline (DCN), nitrofurazone (NZF), and nitrofurantoin (NFT) with detection limits of 3.37 × 10, 1.

Infections of the urinary tract are among some of the most common infections treated in clinical practice. Numerous risk factors play an intrinsic role in the development of such infections, namely: age, sexual intercourse, prolonged use of feminine hygiene products, instrumentation, pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, obstructive uropathy such as prostatic enlargement or urethral strictures, compromised immunity, and constipation. A major cause of urinary tract infections (UTIs) in hospitalized patients is catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs).

The carcinogenic and teratogenic risks of nitrofurazone (NFZ) led to its restriction in aquatic products. Semicarbazide (SEM), one of its metabolites, is a primary focus of modern monitoring techniques. However, the SEM residue in aquatic products is believed to be formed through endogenous mechanisms, especially for aquatic crustaceans.

Periphytic protists including ciliates are the primary components of microbial communities in which they play a vital role in the progression of food webs by moving resources from lower to higher trophic levels. However, the toxic effects of veterinary antibiotics on periphytic protists across four seasons are minimally understood. Therefore, in this study, a 1-year survey was conducted with the antibiotic nitrofurazone (NFZ) applied at concentrations of 0.
