Tuberculosis, a significant public health concern in Central African Republic lacks whole-genome-based identification and typing of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex strains circulating in populations in that country. Here, we investigated 68 rifampin-resistant clinical isolates collected in 2024 from eight districts in Bangui and surrounding regions. The analysis revealed that all isolates were M.

Individuals with latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) are at risk of progressing to active tuberculosis (TB), which remains a significant cause of death globally. Although various antiTB medications-rifampin and isoniazid-exist for treating for both LTBI and active TB, pharmacovigilance studies evaluating their adverse effects are especially scare for LTBI. Given the continued status of South Korea as having the highest TB incidence among Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development countries, this study examines drug-related adverse events (AEs) and identifies novel signals associated with rifampin or isoniazid in TB prevention and treatment in South Korea using the national AE reporting system.

Poor penetration of many anti-tuberculosis (TB) antibiotics into the central nervous system (CNS) is thought to be a major driver of morbidity and mortality in TB meningitis (TBM). While the amount of a particular drug that crosses into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) varies from person to person, little is known about the host factors associated with interindividual differences in CSF concentrations of anti-TB drugs. In patients diagnosed with TBM from the country of Georgia (n = 17), we investigate the association between CSF concentrations of anti-TB antibiotics and multiple host factors including serum drug concentrations and CSF concentrations of metabolites and cytokines.

On the basis of an experience-sharing workshop in November 2023, we determined insights of 9 early-adopter countries. Across those countries, 71,757 children underwent stool testing over a combined period of 121 months, October 2020-September 2023.
