Acoustic frequency comb generation on a composite diamond/silicon microcantilever in ambient air.

Microsyst Nanoeng

January 2025

Institute of Novel Semiconductors, State Key Laboratory of Crystal Materials, Shandong University, 27 South Shanda Road, Shandong, 250100, P. R. China.

Acoustic frequency combs (AFCs) contain equidistant coherent signals with unconventional possibilities on metrology. Previously, implementation of AFCs on mechanical microresonators with large air damping loss is difficult, which restricted their atmospheric applications. In this work, we explore the potentials of a composite diamond/silicon microcantilever for parametric generation of AFCs in ambient air.

Efficient utilization of solar energy is widely regarded as a crucial solution to addressing the energy crisis and reducing reliance on fossil fuels. Coupling photothermal and photochemical conversion can effectively improve solar energy utilization yet remains challenging. Here, inspired by the photosynthesis system in green plants, we report herein an artificial solar energy converter (ASEC) composed of light-harvesting units as solar collector and oriented ionic hydrophilic channels as reactors and transporters.

This paper addresses a non-interacting torque control strategy to decouple the d- and q-axis dynamics of a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM). The maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) method is used to determine the reference currents for the desired torque. To realize the noninteracting control, knowledge concerning the inductances L and L of the electrical machine is necessary.

A parallelized field-programmable gate array (FPGA) architecture is proposed to realize an ultra-fast, compact, and low-cost dual-channel ultra-wideband (UWB) pulsed-radar system. This approach resolves the main shortcoming of current FPGA-based radars, namely their low processing throughput, which leads to a significant loss of data provided by the radar receiver. The architecture is integrated with an in-house UWB pulsed radar operating at a sampling rate of 20 gigasamples per second (GSa/s).

Biocompatible dually reinforced gellan gum hydrogels with selective antibacterial activity.

Carbohydr Polym

March 2025

School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Qingdao University, Qingdao 266071, PR China. Electronic address:

The poor mechanics and functionality of natural-polymer hydrogels from gellan gum (GG) prohibit their practical application, despite the intrinsic thermo-reversible gelation nature, structural and quality consistency, biocompatibility, biodegradability and sustainability of microbial fermentation-produced GG. Herein, a dual-reinforcing strategy, i.e.
