The clean conversion of CO is a strategic issue for addressing global climate change and advancing energy transformation. While the current clean CO conversion is limited to the H pyrolysis process, using HO as a proton source is more promising and sustainable. A microplasma discharge method is developed, driven by electricity, and utilized for CO conversion with HO.

Vertical seed dispersal towards higher or lower altitudes is an important process for plants' adaptation to climate change. Although many plants depend on animals for seed dispersal, studies on vertical seed dispersal by animals, determined by complex animal behaviours, are scarce. Previous studies hypothesised that animals inhabiting temperate regions disperse seeds uphill in spring/summer and downhill in autumn/winter due to their seasonal movement following the altitudinal gradients in food phenology.

With the rapid growth of the world population and economy, the greenhouse effect caused by CO emissions is becoming more and more serious. To achieve the "two-carbon" goal as soon as possible, the carbon dioxide reduction reaction is one of the most promising strategies due to its economic and environmental friendliness. As an analog of graphene, monolayer h-BN is considered to be a potential catalyst.

Multiple far-red light-adapted photosystem I (FR-PSI) reaction centers are recently found to work in oxygenic photosynthesis. They contain a small amount of a new type pigment chlorophyll (Chl ) in addition to the major pigment chlorophyll (Chl ). FR-PSI differs from the conventional PSIs in plants and cyanobacteria, which use only visible light absorbed by Chl , although the mechanism of FR-PSI is not fully clear yet.

Class II photolyases (PLs) are a distant subclade in the photolyase/cryptochrome superfamily, displaying a unique Trp-Tyr tetrad for photoreduction and exhibiting a lower quantum yield (QY) of DNA repair (49%) than class I photolyases (82%) [M. Zhang, L. Wang, S.
