Lophine incorporated azo dye as a novel colorimetric sensor for multiple metal ions.

Spectrochim Acta A Mol Biomol Spectrosc

January 2025

Laboratory of Organic Chemistry, Tarsadia Institute of Chemical Science, Uka Tarsadia University, Maliba Campus, Gopal Vidyanagar, Bardoli-Mahuva Road, Tarsadi 394650 Surat Gujarat India. Electronic address:

A single molecule sensor for several analytes is indeed desired by the scientists around the world due to obvious advantages. In this report we present a new class of Lophine incorporated azo dyes that has capacity of differential colorimetric detection of several metal ions. Interestingly the sensor was found to have pH dependent selective response towards several metals.

Deciphering the impact of NOS-derived NO on nitrogen metabolism and carbon flux in the heterocytous cyanobacterium Aphanizomenon flos-aquae 2012/KM1/D3.

Plant Physiol Biochem

January 2025

Laboratory of Microbial Genetics, Department of Botany, Institute of Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, 221005, India. Electronic address:

Nitric oxide synthases (NOSs) are heme-based monooxygenases that catalyze the NADPH-dependent oxidation of L-arginine to produce NO and L-citrulline. Over the past five years, the identification and characterization of NOS homologs in cyanobacteria have significantly advanced our understanding of these enzymes. However, the precise mechanisms through which NOS-derived NO influences nitrogen metabolism remain incompletely elucidated.

Aggressive angiomyxoma of the vagina: A case report and literature review.

Medicine (Baltimore)

January 2025

Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology, Jeonbuk National University Hospital, Jeonbuk National University Medical School, Jeonju, Republic of Korea.

Rationale: Aggressive angiomyxoma (AAM) is an exceptionally rare mesenchymal tumor that predominantly manifests in the female genital organs during the reproductive age. Its rarity alone makes it a fascinating subject for study. The diagnosis of AAM necessitates differentiation from other benign or mesenchymal tumors and can be confirmed through immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining.

Pan-neurofascin autoimmune nodoparanodopathy: A case report and literature review.

Medicine (Baltimore)

January 2025

Department of Neurology (Nerve-Muscle Unit), Reference Center for Neuromuscular Diseases "AOC," ALS Reference Center, University Hospitals of Bordeaux (Pellegrin Hospital), University of Bordeaux, Bordeaux, France.

Rationale: Locked-in syndrome (and its variant, completely locked-in state) generally has a high mortality rate in the acute setting; however, when induced by conditions such as acute inflammatory polyradiculoneuropathy, it may well be curable such that an attempt at cure should be systematically sought by clinicians.

Patient Concerns: A 52-year-old man presented with acute tetraparesia and areflexia, initially diagnosed as Guillain-Barré syndrome. Despite appropriate treatment, his condition deteriorated, evolving into a completely locked-in state.

Exploring markers in nursing care of prostate cancer.

Medicine (Baltimore)

January 2025

Urology and Metabolic Rehabilitation Center, Beijing Rehabilitation Hospital, Capital Medical University, Xixia Zhuang, Badachu, Shijingshan District, Beijing, China.

Prostate cancer is epithelial malignant prostate hyperplasia caused by a tumor. We found prostate cancer GSE141551 and GSE200879 profiles from gene expression omnibus database, followed by differentially expressed genes (DEGs) analysis, weighted gene co-expression network analysis, protein-protein interaction analysis, gene function enrichment analysis, and comparative toxicology database analysis. Finally, the gene expression heat map was drawn, and miRNA information regulating core DEGs was retrieved.
