Objective: To investigate the effects and mechanisms of miRNA 221 on myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury (MIRI) in mice through the regulation of phospholamban (PLB) expression.
Methods: The MIRI mouse model was created and mice were divided into sham, MIRI, MIRI+ 221, and MIRI+ scr groups, with miRNA 221 overexpression induced in the myocardium of MIRI mice by targeted myocardial injection. Quantitative RT-PCR analysis was performed to observe the variation in miRNA 221, PLB, SERCA2, RYR2, NCX1, Cyt C and caspase 3 mRNA levels in myocardium, while Western blot assessed the levels of PLB, p-PLB (Ser16), p-PLB (Thr17), SERCA2, RYR2, NCX1, Cyt C and caspase 3 proteins.

Social networks are a battlefield for political propaganda. Protected by the anonymity of the internet, political actors use computational propaganda to influence the masses. Their methods include the use of synchronized or individual bots, multiple accounts operated by one social media management tool, or different manipulations of search engines and social network algorithms, all aiming to promote their ideology.

Hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) reactions and their kinetic barriers Δ are important in organic and inorganic chemistry. This study examines factors that influence Δ, reporting the kinetics and thermodynamics of HAT from various ruthenium bis(acetylacetonate) pyridine-imidazole complexes to nitroxyl radicals. Across these 36 reactions, the Δ and Δ can be independently varied, with different sets of Ru complexes primarily tuning either their ps or their °s.

Somatic clonal expansion refers to the proliferation and expansion of a cell clone within a multicellular organism. Since cancer also results from the uncontrolled proliferation of few cell clones, it is generally believed that aging-associated somatic clonal expansion observed in normal tissues represents a precancerous condition. For instance, hematological malignancy is often preceded by clonal hematopoiesis.
