Chylous reflux (CR) in primary lymphedema (PL) of the lower extremities is rare and requires particular diagnostic procedures. This study aimed to determine clinical and lymphoscintigraphic traits for efficient screening. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a highly prevalent disease. Mechanical etiology, including hiatal hernia, can be resistant to empiric proton pump inhibitor (PPI) trials; Nissen fundoplication is commonly used to treat mechanical GERD. Background: New treatments for recalcitrant chylous ascites are needed to avoid sequelae associated with increased intraabdominal pressures, chyle loss, and diminished quality of life. An autologous microsurgical technique was developed to treat recalcitrant chylous ascites and restore normal physiology.
Methods: A retrospective case series was performed for patients with recalcitrant chylous ascites surgically treated from 2018 to 2020.

Chylopericardium is a rare pathologic condition consisting of the accumulation of excess amounts of chylous fluid within the pericardial cavity. Most patients are asymptomatic at presentation; however, chest pressure, chest pain and lightheadedness have been reported, and the most common presenting symptom is shortness of breath. Patients are noted to have enlargement of the cardiac silhouette on routine chest radiograph, and evidence of a pericardial effusion on echocardiography.
