Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) is a very effective method in the treatment of dehiscent, infected, and non-healing wounds. Difficult wound healing occurs especially in late pregnancy due to the rapid enlargement of the uterus and the constantly increasing tension of the entire abdominal wall. Objective: Diagnosis grouping systems are essential for health services and epidemiological and health outcomes research. The Diagnosis Grouping System (DGS) was developed to classify International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision diagnosis codes for pediatric emergency department (ED) encounters. We applied and compared the DGS to large samples of US ED encounters for children using 3 large health system databases.

Pheochromocytoma is a rare tumor originating from the adrenal gland, characterized by the secretion of catecholamines. Due to the risk of hypertensive crises associated with catecholamine release, surgical procedures in pheochromocytoma patients are risky. In this case report, laparoscopic appendectomy for acute appendicitis in a patient who has pheochromocytoma will be presented.
