Wandering spleen is a relatively rare condition and may be complicated by intestinal obstruction or abnormal intestinal rotation. Herein, we report a case where these three conditions appeared concomitantly. An 18-year-old woman with an intellectual disability was admitted to the hospital because of vomiting and fever.

BACKGROUND Pelvic inflammatory diseases and tubo-ovarian abscesses (TOAs) are rarely seen in non-sexually active (NSA) women. While the pathogenesis of TOA remains unclear, its risk factors include ascending infection of the genital tract, gastrointestinal tract translocation, congenital genitourinary anomalies, as well as virulence of the causative agents, with preceding bacteremia and septicemia. CASE REPORT Herein, we present the case of a 25-year-old female patient who was initially diagnosed with ovarian torsion and underwent diagnostic laparoscopy.

Background: A volvulus refers to the torsion or rotational twisting of a portion of the gastrointestinal tract, with a predilection for impacting the caecum and sigmoid colon, often resulting in the development of bowel obstruction. The risk factors associated are old age, chronic fecal impaction, psychiatric disorders, colonic dysmotility, prior abdominal surgical procedures, diabetes, and Hirschsprung's disease. Elderly are most commonly affected with sigmoid volvulus but there are few cases among young adults that culminate in grave complications.

Background: Omphalocele is an abnormality in which fetal abdominal organs protrude through the abdominal wall.
Case Report: We report the case of a 13-year-old female with a history of omphalocele repair who presented with acute periumbilical pain, nausea, and vomiting. A computed tomography scan showed a para-ovarian cyst and mild dilation of the small bowel.

A study comprising 74 colic and 74 control horses admitted to an animal hospital was performed. Faecal samples were collected and analysed for dry matter concentration, particle size distribution using wet-sieving, and sand presence through a sand sedimentation test. Data on horse breed, age, gender and basic feeding variables was collected and analysed using χ-tests.
