In this study, soybean protein isolate (SPI) / bacterial cellulose (BC) co-assemblies replicate the fibrous network structure in animal fat to stabilize the 3D-printed high internal phase Pickering emulsion (HIPPE) gels with excellent processing characteristics. The SPI/BC co-assemblies, structured through pH shifting treatment, displayed exceptional emulsification and gelation properties. The relevant results indicate that the SPI/BC co-assemblies possess numerous hydrophobic and thiol groups on their surfaces.

Hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) reactions and their kinetic barriers Δ are important in organic and inorganic chemistry. This study examines factors that influence Δ, reporting the kinetics and thermodynamics of HAT from various ruthenium bis(acetylacetonate) pyridine-imidazole complexes to nitroxyl radicals. Across these 36 reactions, the Δ and Δ can be independently varied, with different sets of Ru complexes primarily tuning either their ps or their °s.

Developing highly efficient deep-blue multi-resonance thermal activated delayed fluorescence (MR-TADF) materials for ultra-high-definition organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) displays that meet the stringent BT.2020 standard remains a significant challenge. In this study, we present a strategy to achieve high-performance deep-blue MR-TADF emitters by integrating a large π-conjugated double-boron-embedded MR skeleton with strategically positioned peripheral steric hindrance groups.

Myelomeningocele (MMC) is a congenital defect of the spine characterized by meningeal and spinal cord protrusion through open vertebral archs, and its exposure to the amniotic fluid. Given that the progression of neuronal loss begins early in fetal life, an early coverage of the defect is required to improve the neurological outcomes. Several studies have proposed patches as an alternative to full surgical repair, to achieve an early protection of the spine and possibly reduce the rate of complications of current prenatal surgical procedures.

Lipid oxidation hinders the development of water-in-oil (W/O) emulsions. This work aimed to determine the impact of soybean phosphatidylethanolamine (SP)/tamarind gum (TG) ratios on interface activity and anti-oxidant capacity of Maillard conjugates (MCs) in W/O emulsions. Results showed that grafting degree of MCs reached maximum with SP/TG ratio at 1:1 (43.
