For understanding the toxic action of volatile sulphides, we have evaluated the insecticidal efficacy of sulphide mixture (diallyldisulfide, diallylsulfide and diallyltrisulfide) against F. adults by fumigant toxicity (FT) and contact toxicity (CT) bioassays. Further, diffusional characteristics of sulphides inside the treatment vials were analysed by GC-FPD and microstructural impacts on treated beetles were observed using SEM.

Using natural enemies provides a sustainable method to control major agricultural pests. Hoverflies are significant natural enemies of aphids and efficient pollinators. Herbivore-induced plant volatiles (HIPVs), including ()-β-farnesene (EBF) and methyl salicylate (MeSA), are key olfactory cues mediating hoverflies behavior.

The precise identification of various toxic gases is important to prevent health and environmental hazards using cost-effective, efficient, metal oxide-based chemiresistive sensing methods. This study explores the sensing properties of a chemiresistive sensor based on a ZnSnO-SnO microcomposite for detecting -butanol vapours. The microcomposite, enriched with oxygen vacancies, was thoroughly characterized, confirming its structure, crystallinity, morphology and elemental composition.

Cassava is a starchy staple typically consumed in tropical countries; however, its high moisture content renders it susceptible to post-harvest deterioration. Fermentation has been used to improve shelf-life, functional properties, nutrient bioavailability, minimize toxic compounds, and alter aroma. In this study, the effect of added salt (5-25 %) on the pH, titratable acidity (TTA), and volatile compounds (VOCs) in cassava fermented was investigated.
