Egg yolk phospholipids, on a 10 g scale, were resolved by high-performance liquid chromatography on an 8-m silica column with elution by a stepwise chloroformmethanol gradient into homogenous phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylinositol, phosphatidylethanolamine, and lysophosphatidylethanolamine fractions. Within these fractions, partial resolution on the basis of fatty acyl side chain composition was achieved.

Background: Hyperuricemia and non-alcoholic fatty pancreas disease (NAFPD) are prevalent metabolic diseases, but the relationship between them remains underexplored.
Methods: Eighteen Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to three groups: normal (CON), high-fat (PO), and high-fat high-uric acid (PH). After 12 weeks, serum uric acid (SUA) and triacylglycerol levels were measured.

This study aimed to assess the causal relationship between lipidome and female reproductive diseases (FRDs) using an advanced series of Mendelian randomization (MR) methods. This study utilized genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary statistics encompassing 179 lipidomes and six prevalent FRDs, namely polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, uterine fibroid, female infertility, uterine endometrial cancer, and ovarian cancer. The two-sample MR (TSMR) approach was employed to investigate the causal relationships, with further validation using false discovery rate (FDR) and multivariable MR (MVMR) methods.

One of the key hallmarks of Parkinson's disease is the disruption of lipid homeostasis in the brain, which plays a critical role in neuronal membrane integrity and function. Understanding how treadmill training impacts lipid restructuring and its subsequent influence on motor function could provide a basis for developing targeted non-pharmacological interventions for individuals living with early stage of PD. This study aims to investigate the effects of a treadmill training intervention on motor deficits induced by 6-OHDA in rats model of PD.

From a detailed review of 90 experimental and clinical metabolomic investigations of obesity and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), we have developed metabolomic hallmarks for both obesity and MASLD. Obesity studies were conducted in mice, rats, and humans, with consensus biomarker groups in plasma/serum being essential and nonessential amino acids, energy metabolites, gut microbiota metabolites, acylcarnitines and lysophosphatidylcholines (LPC), which formed the basis of the six metabolomic hallmarks of obesity. Additionally, mice and rats shared elevated cholesterol, humans and rats shared elevated fatty acids, and humans and mice shared elevated VLDL/LDL, bile acids and phosphatidylcholines (PC).

Phospholipids (PLs) play a crucial role in the nutraceutical field due to their various health benefits, including supporting acetylcholine production, enhancing cell membrane fluidity, and promoting cognitive functions. This study aimed to investigate the PL composition of selected agri-foods, including grains, vegetables, and fruits, and assess the effects of cooking methods. The major PLs identified in most agri-foods were phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) and phosphatidylcholine (PC).
