This study experimentally investigates the role of cavitation-induced shock waves in initiating and destabilizing capillary (surface) waves on a droplet surface, preceding atomization. Acoustic emissions and interfacial wave dynamics were simultaneously monitored in droplets of different liquids (water, isopropyl alcohol and glycerol), using a calibrated fiber-optic hydrophone and high-speed imaging. Spectral analysis of the hydrophone data revealed distinct subharmonic frequency peaks in the acoustic spectrum correlated with the wavelength of capillary waves, which were optically captured during the onset of atomization from the repetitive imploding bubbles.

Though the United Nations deals with its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in blocs of 15 years at a time, "sustainable" indicates a longer-term focus, aiming at steady human progress, including in public health and welfare. But the alcohol history in many countries shows "long waves" of consumption, repetitively rising, then falling, then rising again. Underlying this dynamic are competing interests pushing in opposite directions.

An increasing number of people face the challenge of providing long-term, unpaid, informal care to children with cancer. The repetitive and staged processes of treatment create inherently rhythmic care practices, imposing a strict schedule on caregivers' daily routines. To explore the rhythmic nature of pediatric cancer informal care, we discuss the rhythms of daily life during intensive chemotherapy and maintenance therapy, and negotiated strategies of caring practice.

Background/objectives: Lower limb cutaneous reflex amplitudes can modulate across gait, which helps humans adjust rhythmic motor outputs to maintain balance in an ever-changing environment. Preliminary evidence suggests people who suffer from repetitive ankle sprains and residual feelings of giving way demonstrate altered cutaneous reflex patterns in the gastrocnemius. However, before cutaneous reflex assessment can be implemented as a clinical outcome measure, there is a need to substantiate these early findings by measuring reflex amplitudes across longer latency periods and exploring the variability of reflexes within each subject.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) on the pain intensity, impact of the disease, and health-related quality of life among women diagnosed with Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS).
Methods: The study was designed as a single-center, double-blind, randomized, and sham-controlled trial. Twenty women with FMS were included and randomized into intervention ( = 11) and sham control ( = 9) groups.
