A single digital angiosarcoma was excised by a carbon dioxide laser with small portions of this tumor excised by the scalpel and the high-frequency electrosurgical knife. The patient has been followed for 6 years without any local recurrence or additional lesions. There is a brief summary of investigative studies with lasers in benign and malignant vascular tumors.

Background: Hepatic sarcomatoid carcinoma (HSC) and hepatic sarcoma (HS) are rare malignancies. Without pathology, the differential diagnosis between these two tumors is difficult due to their frequent overlaps in clinical presentations and imaging features. Currently, there are limited analyses about the ultrasound (US), contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) and contrast-enhanced computer tomography (CECT) characteristics of HSC and HS.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the CT features of pulmonary metastases in dogs with hemangiosarcoma (HSA) at various sites. Additionally, the CT characteristics of extrapulmonary metastases in the same population were assessed.

Methods: Retrospective, observational, and descriptive study conducted from April 2013 to January 2024.

Article Synopsis
  • * Diagnosis requires various imaging techniques like echocardiography and CT scans, with definitive confirmation through histological analysis.
  • * A case study is presented of a young male who experienced a syncopal event after using cocaine, leading to imaging that revealed a cardiac mass, ultimately diagnosed as a malignant tumor.

Article Synopsis
  • Accurate diagnosis and treatment of complex cardiac tumors is challenging, especially for surgical resection, but 3D reconstruction and printing can enhance pre-operative planning and care.
  • The study reports two patients with rare cardiac conditions, one with cardiac angiosarcoma and the other with IgG4-related disease, where 3D models aided in surgical strategies.
  • Both patients experienced successful outcomes, with the angiosarcoma patient receiving chemotherapy and another surgery, while the IgG4 patient had complete tumor resection, demonstrating the utility of 3D printing in surgical planning.

Article Synopsis
  • * Data was collected from 7 patients diagnosed with PHA, utilizing various imaging techniques like ultrasound, CT scans, and PET-CT to analyze specific tumor features.
  • * Results indicated that imaging often revealed specific patterns, such as uneven echoes on ultrasound and low-density shadows on CT, which could aid in differentiating PHA from other liver conditions.
