Aim: to determin the recurrence rate of benign recto-colonic polyps in a 5-year interval, and compare the development rate of intrapolypoid carcinomatous lesions in polypectomized versus nonpolypectomized subjects.
Material And Method: a group of 77 patients diagnosed with recto-colonic polypoid lesions during the period 2014-2019 underwent colonoscopy at the time of study initiation and then annually during a five-year interval. The recurrence rate of polyps increased annually from 5 to 12.

Lately, we have been confronted with an increased number of malignant tumors of the large bowel, appearing at younger patients. Among all histopathologic forms of malignant colonic tumors treated in our Clinic, lymphoma is the fifth as frequency of apparition, respectively the fourth at patients less than 40 years old. We present the case of a 22-years-old patient, having colonic polyposis and multicentric non-Hodgkin lymphoma of the terminal ileum and ascending colon.

Ninety eight rectocolonic lesions up to 10 mm in diameter found in 50 patients were analyzed. The relationship between endoscopic and pathologic diagnosis was established. Emphasis was made on the detection of adenomas based in the following: Yamada III or IV lateral vision, Yamada I and II with smooth but erythematous surface, and in pale with irregular surface lesions.

One hundred and twenty-four patients (mean age: 70 years) with a villous tumour of the rectum (n = 98) or the colon (n = 26) were treated by laser therapy from 1985 to 1991. Initial complete eradication was obtained in 93.5% of cases with a median time of 16 months.

One case of malignant degeneration on an ileostomy following proctocolectomy for familial intestinal polyposis is reported. On the basis of a review of the literature, the nosological context of this disease, the etiopathogenesis of cancerization and the surgical consequences are determined.
