Cornelia de Lange syndrome (CdLS) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by a distinctive facial appearance, growth/cognitive retardation, developmental delay, skeletal malformation, hypertrichosis, and other abnormalities. Patients with mild CdLS have less severe phenotypes, while retaining representative facial features. Mutations in the genes , , , , and have been associated with CdLS, with mutations in accounting for approximately 60% of cases.

Laparoscopic procedures in children are technically demanding because of reduced working space with careful monitoring of pneumoperitoneum pressure. We report a case of laparoscopic cholecystectomy performed in a 9-year-old boy using slender forceps which addressed all the above mentioned concerns. This shows a possibility of needlescopic surgery in children.

Background: Cholelithiasis is a rare condition seen during childhood. The aim of this study was to determine frequency of biliary sludge and cholelithiasis with ceftriaxone therapy.
Methods: Thirty-eight children aged between 1 month and 17 years were evaluated with ultrasonographic examination at the initiation of the ceftriaxone therapy and 10th day of therapy, consecutively.

Acute biliary pancreatitis is a well recognized complication of gallstone disease in adults. Acute pancreatitis in childhood is usually caused by congenital anomalies of the pancreatico-biliary ducts, viral infections, drug toxicity or abdominal trauma. We report the case of a 9-year-old girl with acute biliary pancreatitis and cholangitis.

A 9-year-old spayed female Poodle was admitted because of vomiting of 3 weeks' duration, lethargy, and anorexia. Palpation of the cranial portion of the abdomen elicited signs of pain. Principal laboratory abnormalities included mild segmented neutrophilia, lymphopenia, high serum alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, and alkaline phosphatase activities, and hyperbilirubinemia.
