Introduction: The management of patients with Polycythemia Vera (PV) traditionally includes low-dose aspirin, phlebotomy, and cytoreductive therapy for high-risk individuals. Recent evidence suggests that cytoreductive treatment may be warranted for patients with additional risk factors beyond the traditional criteria of a history of thrombosis and age over 60 years. Introducing new therapeutic agents, including ropeginterferon alfa-2b and ruxolitinib, enables a more personalized treatment approach tailored to individual patient characteristics.

Introduction: Relaxing entry regulation for private hospitals and fostering competition in the healthcare market are crucial prerequisites for addressing the diverse healthcare demands of the population and promoting the development of a Healthy China. This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the health effect of relaxing entry regulation for private hospitals and to examine its nonlinear characteristics.

Methods: Using panel data from 31 provinces in mainland China, this study employs a fixed effects panel data model to investigate the health effect of relaxing entry regulation for private hospitals.

Vasoplegia in Heart, Lung, or Liver Transplantation: A Narrative Review.

Vasoplegia is a pathophysiologic state of hypotension in the setting of normal or high cardiac output and low systemic vascular resistance despite euvolemia and high-dose vasoconstrictors. Vasoplegia in heart, lung, or liver transplantation is of particular interest because it is common (approximately 29%, 28%, and 11%, respectively), is associated with adverse outcomes, and because the agents used to treat vasoplegia can affect immunosuppressive and other drug metabolism. This narrative review discusses the pathophysiology, risk factors, and treatment of vasoplegia in patients undergoing heart, lung, and liver transplantation.

Background: Although Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) utilization in pediatric patients with cardiopulmonary failure due to infection improves mortality, it is unclear whether the infectious etiology impacts outcomes. The aim of this study is to compare ECMO outcomes in children with sepsis and severe acute lung injury secondary to infections based on culture data.

Methods: A retrospective review was done of patients aged <18 with severe infections whose management included ECMO from 2013 to 2022 at a quaternary children's hospital.

The dysregulation of lipid metabolism could adversely affect brain health.
