Background: Hyperuricemia (HUA) is a condition characterized by excessive uric acid production and/or inadequate uric acid excretion due to abnormal purine metabolism in the human body. Uric acid deposits resulting from HUA can lead to complications such as renal damage. Currently, drugs used to treat HUA lack specificity and often come with specific toxic side effects.

Today, feeding protein supply according to need in high-yielding lactating cows has become a big challenge. Protein is the most costly bulk constituent of animal diet, and the price of protein sources is increasing steadily, which is different from milk price rising. Therefore, one way for farmers to reduce feed costs is to reduce dietary protein share.

Carbon quantum dots (C-dots) have emerged as efficient fluorescent materials for solid-state lighting devices. However, it is still a challenge to obtain highly bright solid-state C-dots because of the aggregation caused quenching. Compared to the encapsulation of as-prepared C-dots in matrices, one-step preparation of C-dots/matrix complex is a good method to obtain highly bright solid-state C-dots, which is still quite limited.

Non-protein nitrogen () supplements improve animal performance in backgrounding diets. However, there is scarce information regarding the effect of different NPN sources and combinations on ruminal fermentation profile. The current study aimed to evaluate the effect of different NPN sources and their combinations on in vitro fermentation, microbial N synthesis, and methane (CH) production in a backgrounding diet.

The utilization of coconut diethanolamide (-CDEA) as a substitute polyol for petroleum-based polyol in fully biobased rigid polyurethane-urea foam (RPUAF) faces challenges due to its short chain and limited cross-linking capability. This leads to compromised cell wall resistance during foam expansion, resulting in significant ruptured cells and adverse effects on mechanical and thermal properties. To address this, a novel sequential amidation-prepolymerization route was employed on coconut oil, yielding a hydroxyl-terminated poly(urethane-urea) prepolymer polyol (COPUAP).
