Cancer stem cells (CSCs) contribute to the resistance of intractable prostate cancer, and dopamine receptor (DR)D2 antagonists exhibit anticancer activity against prostate cancer and CSCs. Human prostate cancer PC-3 cells were used to generate CSC-like cells, serving as a surrogate system to identify the specific DR subtype the inhibition of which significantly affects prostate-derived CSCs. Additionally, the present study aimed to determine the downstream signaling molecules of this DR subtype that exert more profound effects compared with other DR subtypes.

Background And Aim: Zhilong Huoxue Tongyu Capsule (ZL capsule) has been demonstrated to be an effective and widely-used traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula for the treatment of various diseases, especially for atherosclerosis (AS) related cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Reversal of endothelial-mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plays a crucial role in the cure of AS. But the curative impact of ZL capsule on EndMT remains obscure during the development of AS.

Introduction: This article describes the invention of graphene oxide (GO) or reduced graphene oxide (rGO) functionalised with 2-methoxy estradiol. The presence of polar hydroxyl groups enables the binding of 2-ME to GO/rGO through hydrogen bonds with epoxy and hydroxyl groups located on the surface and carbonyl and carboxyl groups located at the edges of graphene flake sheets.
Methods: The patented method of producing the subject of the invention and the research results regarding its anticancer effectiveness via cytotoxicity in an in vivo model (against A375 melanoma and 143B osteosarcoma cells) are described.

The effects of temperature, humidity, and UV irradiation on the accelerated oil oxidation of chicken seasoning (CS) were investigated, aiming to establish a method for evaluating its storage stability. Key oxidation indicators, such as peroxide value (POV), fatty acid profile, and volatile aldehydes, were measured to assess the degree of oil oxidation. The results indicated that oil oxidation of CS is not significantly accelerated by temperatures of 50-80 °C due to the inhibitory effects of the Maillard reaction.

In this work, the functional activities including α-glucosidase, α-amylase, angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activity, and antioxidant activity of mixed grains (mung beans, cowpeas, and quinoa) fermented with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens SY07 were investigated. The volatile flavor of the mixed grains collected every 12 h during 72 h-fermentation were further detected as well. The inhibition on α-glucosidase and α-amylase reached up to 89.
