Microalgae are a valuable source of renewable biomass that contains lipids, proteins, and bioactive compounds. It is a promising sustainable candidate for green synthesis of nanomaterials (NMs). The present work announces a novel biogenic approach for synthesis of platinum nanoparticles (Pt NPs) employing Tetradesmus obliquus (green microalgae) as a green reducer and surfactant.

A new diterpenoid, carneadiol (1), with an unprecedented tricyclic carbon skeleton, was isolated from the culture extracts of Nocardia carnea IFM 12324. The structure of compound 1 was elucidated using spectral studies, including various NMR data. The absolute configuration of 1 was determined using X-ray crystallographic analysis with the crystalline sponge method.

This study aimed to develop bead-free nanofibers for effective omega-3 encapsulation using optimal mixing ratios of whey protein isolate (WPI)/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) blends via electrospinning method. Various WPI-PVA ratios (100:0, 90:10, 80:20, 70:30, 60:40, 50:50 v/v) were examined for surface tension, viscosity, and conductivity. SEM images revealed uneven nanofibers with bead at 90:10 and 80:20 ratios, while the 70:30 ratio produced uniform and bead-free nanofibers with an average diameter of 262.

This study explores the innovative combined effects of alkaline isolation with ultrasound pretreatment on the physicochemical properties of acorn (Quercus brantii) starch. The optimal pH for maximizing the yield of alkaline-isolated acorn starch (AAS) was determined, followed by comparison with alkaline-isolated defatted acorn starch (ADAS), ultrasound-pretreated acorn starch (UAS), and ultrasound-pretreated defatted acorn starch (UDAS). The results demonstrated substantial improvements in yield and purity, with the highest yield (68.

Many properties of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) depend on its molecular environment, such as whether it is an isolated molecule, a dimer, or in a crystalline state. The molecular geometry, conformational analysis, and vibrational spectrum of 2,4-D were theoretically calculated using Density Functional Theory (DFT) methods. A new slightly more stable conformer was found, which is different to those previously reported.
