Background/objectives: Serous ovarian carcinoma (SOC) is the most common subtype of epithelial ovarian cancer, with high-grade (HGSOC) and low-grade (LGSOC) subtypes presenting distinct clinical behaviours. This study aimed to evaluate histopathologic features in SOC, correlating these with prognostic outcomes, and explore the potential clinical implications.

Methods: We analysed 51 SOC cases for lymphovascular space invasion (LVSI), tumour border configuration (TBC), microvessel density (MVD), tumour budding (TB), the tumour-stroma ratio (TSR), the stromal type, tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs), and tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs).

Up-regulation of extracellular-matrix and inflammation related genes in oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Arch Oral Biol

May 2024

Life Science Department, School of Science, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad 380009, Gujarat, India. Electronic address:

Objective: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the most prevalent malignancy with late-presentation, site-specific heterogeneity, and high-propensity for recurrence/metastasis that has shown rise in mortality. Lately, research emphasize on dynamic interactions between tumor-cells and extracellular-matrix components within tumor-microenvironment that promote tissue integrity loss and carcinogenesis. Therefore, OSCC clinical-management is still challenging.

Translational Medical Science, School of Medicine, the University of Nottingham and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Nottingham, UK; Department of Pathology, Faculty of Medicine, Menoufia University, Egypt; Pathology Department, Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha, Qatar. Electronic address:

Article Synopsis
  • Breast cancer classified as HER2 Low is a new category that requires more detailed understanding regarding its clinical and molecular characteristics, particularly in relation to treatment response and patient outcomes.
  • The study analyzed two distinct breast cancer cohorts, examining the profiles of HER2 Low tumors through various biological and immunological tests and confirming findings with additional advanced sequencing techniques.
  • Results indicated that most HER2 Low tumors are hormone receptor positive and have a better prognosis compared to HER2 negative tumors, while hormone receptor negative HER2 Low tumors show distinct immune profiles and longer survival rates.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common solid malignant burdens worldwide. Cancer immunology and immunotherapy have become fundamental areas in CRC research and treatment. Currently, the method of generating Immune-Related Gene Prognostic Indices (IRGPIs) has been found to predict patient prognosis as an immune-related prognostic biomarker in a variety of tumors.

Background: To construct a prognostic risk model of bladder cancer (BC) from the perspective of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and ferroptosis, in order to guide clinical prognosis and identify potential therapeutic targets.

Methods: In-hours BC samples were collected from 4 patients diagnosed with BC, who underwent radical cystectomy. Single cell transcriptome sequencing was performed and Seurat package were used for quality control and secondary analysis.
