Capillary zone electrophoresis (CE) combines high separation power, scalability, and speed to limited proteome analyses by mass spectrometry (MS). However, compressed separation in CE challenges the duty cycle of tandem MS, even during data-independent acquisition (DIA). To help remedy this limitation, we introduce the concept of lectrophoresis-rrelative (Eco) data acquisition for CE-MS.

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Research & Development, 1400 McKean Road, Spring House, PA, 19477, USA.

Article Synopsis
  • Reliable impurity detection in biopharmaceuticals is key for ensuring product quality and safety; however, traditional methods face technical challenges in accurately identifying individual impurities.
  • This study introduces a size-based electrophoresis method combined with mass spectrometry to effectively detect and identify impurities in antibody production from known degradation products.
  • By simulating cell culture conditions and forced degradation, the researchers demonstrate that this combined approach improves the detection and identification of impurities, enhancing the development process for antibody therapeutics.*

Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) exhibit improved optical and spectral properties compared to bulk materials, making them suitable for the detection of DNA, RNA, antigens, and antibodies. Here, we describe a simple, selective, and rapid non-cross linking detection assay, using approx. 35 nm spherical Au nanoprobes, for a common mutation occurring in exon 19 of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), associated with non-small-cell lung cancer cells.

The Goldview dyeing of the natural multiplasmid system of Lactobacillus plantarum PC518 was affected by temperature. The article want to identify the specific molecules that cause temperature sensitivity, then experiment on the universality of temperature sensitivity, and finally preliminarily analyze the influencing factors. At 5°C and 25°C, single pDNA, multiplasmid system, and linear DNA samples were electrophoretic on agarose gel prestained by Goldview 1, 2, 3, and acridine orange (AO), respectively.
