The sensitive, efficient, and simultaneous assay of creatinine and urea in different body fluid is crucial for the daily detection and treatment of chronic kidney disease. Here, we exploited a versatile composite surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)-flower-like ZIF-67@Ag nanoparticles (NPs) based on simple in-situ growth and ion sputtering strategies. The plasmonic Ag NPs assembled on the three-dimensional anisotropic ZIF-67 matrix, facilitating numerous resonant electromagnetic "hotspots".

Asymmetric organocatalysis by bifunctional acid- and base-type small organic molecules has emerged as a promising way to enhance stereoselective organic transformations since the beginning of this millennium. Takemoto's -amine/thiourea catalyst, an archetype in these endeavors, has encouraged many to design new multifunctional alternatives. However, the discovery of efficient catalysts in a library of thousands of candidates containing the desired functionalities in their structures remains a great challenge both synthetically and computationally.

This study investigates the impact of urea molasses-treated wheat straw on growth performance and nutrient digestibility in Azikheli buffalo male calves. A longitudinal experiment was conducted on sixteen calves, randomly assigned to four experimental dietary treatments (n = 4 per group). The experimental diets included a control group (U0) with untreated wheat straw and three groups where urea molasses-treated wheat straw replaced 33% (U33), 66% (U66), or 100% (U100) of the straw in the total mixed ration.

Mixed starting cultures have been reported to perform better than commonly used single Lactic acid bacteria in meat fermentation. Lactobacillus curvatus SQ-425 and Staphylococcus simulans 65-4 were screened from 67 sausages collected from southwest regions in China to investigate the effects of single and combined inoculation (SF and CMF) on sausages quality, while natural fermentation (NF) was used as a control group. Inoculation of mixed cultures resulted in a continuous decrease in pH during fermentation, an increase in redness values of sausages and the highest sensory score.
