In the present study, co-parental exposure to polystyrene nanoplastics (PS-NPs) elicits profound teratological impacts, including skeletal and visceral malformations, post-natal effects on neonatal growth and neurobehavioral development in F1 progeny. A comprehensive investigation was conducted on Swiss albino mice fetuses, neonates (PND 1-21) and adult mice offsprings (PND 60) following parental exposure during spermatogenesis and oogenesis period, as well as continued maternal exposure during gestation and weaning. The parental mice were administered PS-NPs via oral gavage at low dose (0.

Neuroendocrine regulation is disrupted by di-n-butyl phthalate (DBP) when exposure occurs during the critical periods of fetal development, which can lead to neurological disorders. To evaluate the toxic potential of DBP, it is necessary to conduct teratological studies, which could determine impacts on the development of the fetus. The present study was designed to understand the sequelae of neuroendocrine regulation in one-month-old pups when rats were exposed to DBP (F-F) and during lactation.

Teratological research shows that both prenatal stress and prenatal substance exposure have a significant impact on neurodevelopmental outcomes in children. Using human research, the purpose of this narrative review is to explore the degree to which these exposures may represent complex prenatal and postnatal risks for the development of cognition and behavior in children. An understanding of the HPA axis and its function during pregnancy as well as the types and operationalization of prenatal stress provide a context for understanding the direct and indirect mechanisms by which prenatal stress affects brain and behavior development.

Background: Congenital dislocation of the knee (CDK) may be idiopathic or associated with another condition, such as Larsen syndrome or arthrogryposis. Surgical reduction of type-3 dislocation may require quadricepsplasty (QP) or femoral diaphyseal shortening (FS). Because it is unknown which treatment is more effective, we evaluated long-term outcomes using patient-reported questionnaires and gait analysis, comparing results by surgery type and underlying diagnosis.
