Pregnancy is a vulnerable time with significant cardiovascular changes that can lead to adverse outcomes, which can extend into the postpartum window. Exposure to emissions from electronic cigarettes (Ecig), commonly known as "vaping," has an adverse impact on cardiovascular function during pregnancy and post-natal life of offspring, but the postpartum effects on maternal health are poorly understood. We used a Sprague Dawley rat model, where pregnant dams are exposed to Ecigs between gestational day (GD)2-GD21 to examine postpartum consequences.

Graves' disease (GD) and gestational transient thyrotoxicosis (GTT) are the most common causes of thyrotoxicosis during pregnancy, with prevalence ranging from 0.1% to 1% and from 1% to 3%, respectively. Hyperthyroidism during pregnancy can have severe consequences if not promptly recognized and treated.

Spermatogenesis is finely regulated by histone methylation, which is crucial for regulating gene expression and chromatin remodeling. Functional studies have demonstrated that the histone lysine methyltransferases (KMTs) SETD1B, CFP1, SETDB1, G9A, and SETD2 play pivotal roles in spermatogenesis through establishing the key histone methylation marks, H3K4me3, H3K9me2, H3K9me3, and H3K36me3, respectively. This study aimed to evaluate the spatiotemporal expression of these KMTs and methylation marks as well as senescence-associated β-galactosidase (β-GAL), transcriptional activity, and apoptosis rates in mouse testes during biological aging.

The rapid progress made in recent years in thyroid cancer research has necessitated the systematic updating of current clinical recommendations. This update presents the evidence-based management of differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) and medullary thyroid carcinoma in children, including preoperative diagnostics, surgical management, radioiodine therapy in DTC treatment with L-thyroxine, disease monitoring, treatment of advanced disease, and finally, consequences of thyroid cancer treatment. Each recommendation is evaluated regarding its strength (Strength of Recommendation; SoR) and the quality of supporting data (QoE - Quality of Evidence).

Benzophenone-3 (also referred to as oxybenzone) is a putative endocrine disrupting chemical and common ingredient in sunscreens and other personal care products. We previously showed that benzophenone-3 can have both promotional and protective effects on mammary tumorigenesis dependent upon dietary fat. The current study examined diet-dependent effects of benzophenone-3 in mammary ductal development in BALB/c mice.
