The Amazon region holds untapped potential with its starch-rich tubers, which are not yet industrialized and face a risk of extinction due to competition from widely cultivated crops. Beyond their traditional subsistence use, Amazonian tubers such as Mairá and Ariá can be utilized as starch sources, offering an opportunity to support regional agriculture, preserve indigenous heritage, and provide sustainable income streams. This study aimed to characterize starches extracted from Mairá (MPS) and Ariá (ARS for rhizome and APS for potato), focusing on their technological and functional potential.

Objective: Evaluate the reverse torque values and wear of internal connections caused by metal-based zirconia abutments under cyclic loading.

Material And Methods: Thirty implants were divided into three groups (n = 10), based on connection systems: Interference-fit cone-screw (Cortical Master Flash MI Fit-MTA and Cortical Master Flash MI RP-MTB), and Internal hexagon (Cortical Titanium Master Connect AR-IH). Metal-based zirconia abutments were tightened into the implant, and zirconia crowns were bonded using resin cement.

Aims: Intraductal carcinoma (IDC) is an independent pathological parameter for adverse prostate cancer (PCa) outcome. Although most IDC are believed to originate from retrograde spread of established PCa, rare IDC cases may represent precursor lesions. The actual transition areas between intraductal and invasive cancer, however, have not yet been identified.
