Understanding the role of metabolic processes during inner ear development is essential for identifying targets for hair cell (HC) regeneration, as metabolic choices play a crucial role in cell proliferation and differentiation. Among the metabolic processes, growing evidence shows that glucose metabolism is closely related to organ development. However, the role of glucose metabolism in mammalian inner ear development and HC regeneration remains unclear.

Background: The monocarboxylate transporter 1 (MCT1) plays a crucial role in regulating lactate and pyruvate transport across cell membranes, which is essential for energy metabolism during exercise. The A1470T (rs1049434) polymorphism has been suggested to influence lactate transport, with the T (major) allele associated with greater transport efficiency. This study aimed to investigate the effect of the polymorphism on lactate and potassium (K) concentrations in response to resistance exercise (RE) following caffeine (CAF) ingestion.

Acidogenic fermentation was an effective technology to recover volatile fatty acids (VFAs) ethanol and lactic acid from food wastes (FW) as bioresources. However, the impact of process controls on key functional enzymes and metabolic pathways has been inadequately understood. In this study, the metabolite distribution, key functional enzymes and metabolic pathways were completely elucidated using 16S rRNA gene high-throughput sequencing combined with PICRUSt2.

Background/objectives: Catha edulis, commonly known as khat, is used for its psychoactive effects and is considered a natural amphetamine. The current study investigated the metabolomic profile in the cerebellum of mice after repeated exposure to khat and evaluated the effects of clavulanic acid on the metabolomic profile in the cerebellum in khat-treated mice.
Methods: Male C67BL/6 mice that were 6-9 weeks old were recruited and divided into three groups: the control group was treated with 0.
