Worldwide, many coastal freshwater ecosystems suffer from seawater intrusion. In addition to this stressor, it is likely that the biota inhabiting these ecosystems will also need to deal with climate change-related temperature fluctuations. The resilience of populations to long-term exposure to these stressors will depend on their genetic diversity, a key for their adaptation to changing environments.

A cross-sectional study on 156 smallholder dairy farms in Rwanda was carried out to assess the association between farm management practices and milk yield and quality. A pre-tested questionnaire was used to collect data on cow characteristics and farm management practices. Milk yield was recorded at household level, milk composition was monitored using a Lactoscan device (Milk Analyzer).

This paper details the hardware implementation of a Universal Converter controlled by an Artificial Neural Network (ANN), utilizing key components such as six Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs), two inductors, and two capacitors for energy storage and voltage smoothing. A Digital Signal Processor (DSP) serves as the core controller, processing real-time input and feedback signals, including voltage and current measurements, to dynamically manage five operational modes: rectifier buck, inverter boost, DC-DC buck, DC-DC boost, and AC voltage control. The pre-trained ANN algorithm generates pulse-width modulation (PWM) signals to control the switching of the IGBTs, optimizing timing and duty cycles for efficient operation.

January 2025

National Human Diseases Animal Model Resource Center, National Center of Technology Innovation for animal model, State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Health and Multimorbidity, NHC Key Laboratory of Comparative Medicine, Beijing Key Laboratory for Animal Models of Emerging and Reemerging Infectious Diseases, Beijing Engineering Research Center for Experimental Animal Models of Human Critical Diseases, Institute of Laboratory Animal Science, CAMS & PUMC, Beijing, China. Electronic address:

Background: Previous studies showed airborne bacteria affect pneumonia incidence, but specific impacts of bacterial communities on Klebsiella pneumoniae infection were unknown.

Methods: Five different ratios of bacterial community structures were randomly generated. Mice were divided into control, artificial bacterial community exposure, and corresponding Klebsiella pneumoniae challenge groups.

Mn-doped MOF nanoparticles mitigating hypoxia via in-situ substitution strategy for dual-imaging guided combination treatment of microwave dynamic therapy and chemotherapy.

J Colloid Interface Sci

January 2025

The Department of Medical Imaging, Guangzhou Key Laboratory of Molecular Functional Imaging and Artificial Intelligence for Major Brain Diseases, The Affiliated Guangdong Second Provincial General Hospital of Jinan University, Jinan University, Guangzhou 518037 China. Electronic address:

Microwave dynamic therapy (MWDT) destroy tumor cells using reactive oxygen species (ROS), but its effectiveness is limited by low ROS production and intracellular oxygen (O) availability. This study presents a novel strategy using manganese (II) ion (Mn) doped iron (Fe)-based metal-organic framework (Fe MOF) nanoparticles (NPs) to enhance both O generation and ROS production for improved MWDT. Incorporating Mn into Fe MOF narrows the bandgap from 0.
