The weight gains of pigs in a hysterectomy-derived herd were evaluated using the cumulative sum technique. Representative animals growing poorly were selected by this method and a high proportion were found to be affected with porcine intestinal adenomatosis. Some possible effects of the condition on production in the herd were evaluated from these findings.
