Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) is a widely used surgery for portal hypertension. In clinical practice, the diameter of the stent forming a shunt is usually selected empirically, which will influence the postoperative portal pressure. Clinical studies found that inappropriate portal pressure after TIPS is responsible for poor prognosis; however, there is no scheme to predict postoperative portal pressure.

Alzheimer's disease is a neurodegenerative chronic disease with a severe social and economic impact in the societies, which still lacks an efficient therapy. Several pathophysiological events (β-amyloid [Aβ] deposits, τ-protein aggregation, loss of cholinergic activity, and oxidative stress) occurs in the progression of the disease. Therefore, the search for efficient multi-targeted agents for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease becomes indispensable.

Background: Individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) experience a wide array of neurological, psychiatric and medical comorbidities, yet little attention has been given to the potential link between ASD and migraine, one of the most prevalent neurological disorders worldwide. This study aimed to investigate whether a genetic predisposition for ASD is linked to migraine and its major subtypes, with and without aura. Additionally, potential moderator and mediators of the association between ASD and migraine were explored.
