Introduction: Exercise- Induced Laryngeal Obstruction (EILO) can lead to disabling exercise related dyspnea and hamper participation in physical activity. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of a standardized speech therapy protocol as treatment for EILO.

Background: Laryngeal respiratory dystonia (LRD) is diagnosed based on clinical presentation, patient history, and physical examination. Key indicators include dyspnea, desynchronized breathing patterns, and laryngoscopic findings that reveal vocal fold adduction during inspiration. Treatment for LRD remains controversial and often yields limited effectiveness.

High-flow nasal oxygen therapy (HFNO) is highly versatile and employed in varied situations, including after extubation, in cases of respiratory failure, and at the end of life. However, its impact on swallowing function is not yet elucidated. Therefore, this scoping review aimed to clarify how HFNO affects swallowing function and whether it poses a risk for aspiration pneumonia.
