Semicarbazide affected both the final width and stability of fibrils reconstituted from solutions of acid-soluble collagen. Fibril width was increased after semicarbazide treatment at pH2.6 and 4.3, whereas after treatment at pH8.9 it decreased. Fibril stability was decreased after semicarbazide treatment at all values of pH and temperature, indicating the inhibition of intermolecular cross-linking. A direct binding of semicarbazide to the alphabeta-unsaturated aldehyde groups in the intramolecular cross-link was demonstrated.

Background: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) is the most common type of leukemia among children. There are several types of drugs that are common in treating and controlling leukemia, including 6-M. Moreover, the anti-cancer effects of the Thiosemicarbazone-Ni complex were surveyed as well as 6-MP.

Diabetes mellitus, particularly type 2 diabetes, is a growing global health challenge characterized by chronic hyperglycemia due to insulin resistance. One therapeutic approach to managing this condition is the inhibition of α-glucosidase, an enzyme involved in carbohydrate digestion, to reduce postprandial blood glucose levels. In this study, a series of thiosemicarbazide-linked quinoline-piperazine derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their α-glucosidase inhibitory activity, to identify new agents for type 2 diabetes management.

This paper presents the synthesis and characterization of new thiosemicarbazone derivatives with potential applications as antibacterial, antioxidant and anticancer agents. Six thiosemicarbazone derivatives (L-L5) were synthesized by reacting an appropriate thiosemicarbazide derivative with 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde. The structures of the obtained compounds were confirmed using mass spectrometry, infrared spectroscopy, and NMR spectroscopy.

This study explores the therapeutic potential of albumin-bound Zn(II)-thiosemicarbazone compounds (Alb-ZnTcA, Alb-ZnTcB) against breast cancer cells. Previous research indicates that these compounds hinder cancer cell proliferation by blocking DNA synthesis, promoting oxidative stress to induce apoptosis, and disrupting the cell cycle to inhibit cellular division. This study focuses on the loading and characterization of these potentially chemically unstable compounds on bovine serum albumin-based nanocarriers.
