Background: The coronary atrial circulation is the network of vessels that supply blood to the atria, originating from the left circumflex and right coronary arteries. Current descriptions of this arterial system are based on anatomical studies with a limited number of patients, predominantly male. In addition, there is a lack of consensus its angiographic nomenclature.

This review aims to describe the sex differences in heart failure (HF) patients, with a particular emphasis on the effect of cardiovascular ageing. Additionally, it takes into consideration the sex-related variation in cardiovascular health and physiology and the role ageing plays in HF and its implications in drug therapy. The pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the common HF medications, classified according to the established sub-types, are summarised with respect to sex-specific documented findings.

O'Donnell-Luria-Rodan (ODLURO) syndrome is an autosomal dominant neurodevelopmental disorder mainly characterized by global development delay/intellectual disability, white matter abnormalities, and behavioral manifestations. It is caused by pathogenic variants in the KMT2E gene. Here we report seven new patients with loss-of-function KMT2E variants, six harboring frameshift/nonsense changes, and one with a 7q22.

Purpose: Brown adipose tissue (BAT), located in the supraclavicular region, has been associated with a better cardiometabolic profile and reduced risk of developing non-communicable chronic diseases (NCD), in addition to being associated with a healthier phenotype in obesity. However, it is unknown whether greater supraclavicular adipose tissue activity could be associated with a healthier metabolic profile in people already diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (T2DM). Thus, the present work evaluated if supraclavicular adipose tissue activity is associated with metabolic and molecular markers in individuals with T2DM.

The greater amberjack (Seriola dumerili) is a valuable marine fish with significant breeding potential, but does not exhibit clear sexual dimorphism in morphology. Sex research and the development of sex identification technology are important for breeding purposes. Through genome-wide association analysis (GWAS), we identified one significant sex-related SNP and 18 candidate sex-related SNPs, then obtained one significant sex-related gene (hsd17β1) and 20 candidate sex-related genes (hmbox1, ahcyl1, pdzd2, etc.
