Purpose: The study focused on developing a rapid PCR-based detection method and employing gamma irradiation techniques to manage , aiming to produce brown rot-free export-quality potatoes. This initiative seeks to enhance potato exports from Bangladesh.
Materials And Methods: Samples of potato tubers and soil were collected from various commercially significant potato-growing areas, resulting in a total of 168 isolates from potato tubers and soil across 12 regions.

Background/objectives: COVID-19 vaccines effectively prevent severe disease, but unequal distribution, especially in low- and middle-income countries, has led to vaccine-resistant strains. This highlights the urgent need for alternative vaccine platforms that are safe, thermostable, and easy to distribute. This study evaluates the immunogenicity, stability, and scalability of a dissolved microneedle array patch (MAP) delivering the rS1RS09 subunit vaccine, comprising the SARS-CoV-2 S1 monomer and RS09, a TLR-4 agonist peptide.

The bacterium responsible for Lyme disease, , accumulates high levels of manganese without iron and possesses a polyploid genome, characteristics suggesting potential extreme resistance to radiation. Contrary to expectations, we report that wild-type B31 cells are radiosensitive, with a gamma-radiation survival limit for 10 wild-type cells of <1 kGy. Thus, we explored radiosensitivity through electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy by quantitating the fraction of Mn present as antioxidant Mn metabolite complexes (H-Mn).

The reuse of wastewater in agriculture can be environmentally beneficial due to its abundance of nutrients that promote plant growth and soil fertility. However, wastewater effluents (WWE) are often considered sources of dissemination of bacteria, antibiotics, heavy metal resistance genes, and pathogens. In this study, we employed a combination of gamma irradiation and bioaugmentation as a strategy for WWE treatment.

Background: Although there are many uses for metal-organic framework (MOF) based nanocomposites, research shows that these materials have received a lot of interest in the field of water treatment, namely in the photodegradation of water contaminants, and disinfection of some pathogenic bacteria and fungi. This is brought on by excessive water pollution, a lack of available water, low-quality drinking water, and the emergence of persistent micro-pollutants in water bodies. Photocatalytic methods may be used to remove most water contaminants, and pathogenic microbes, and MOF is an excellent modifying and supporting material for photocatalytic degradation.
