Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy, safety, and stability of EyeCryl Phakic intraocular lens (IOL) implantation.

Methodology: This retrospective study was conducted in Maghrabi Hospital in Medina to review 31 patients who underwent posterior chamber phakic IOL (EyeCryl Phakic IOL) for surgical correction of myopia or astigmatism. The data were collected from patient medical records after obtaining their consents.

This article reports a rare case of esophageal submucosal gland duct adenoma (ESGDA). The patient was found to have this tumor after undergoing endoscopy in an outpatient clinic due to occasional tingling while eating. White light endoscopy revealed the tumor as a dumbbell-shaped bulge, and ultrasound endoscopy revealed it as a hypoechoic mass located in the submucosal layer.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming healthcare, particularly in orthopedics, by enhancing diagnostic accuracy, surgical planning, and personalized treatment. This review explores current applications of AI in orthopedics, focusing on its contributions to diagnostics and surgical procedures. Key methodologies such as artificial neural networks (ANNs), convolutional neural networks (CNNs), support vector machines (SVMs), and ensemble learning have significantly improved diagnostic precision and patient care.

Analysis of correlations between health-related quality of life and clinical measures after arthroscopic lysis and lavage of the temporomandibular joint.

J Craniomaxillofac Surg

January 2025

Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, The University Hospital of Skåne, Lund, Sweden; Department of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Lund University, Sweden. Electronic address:

How well patient perceived outcome reflects clinical measurements after arthroscopic lysis and lavage of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is not fully understood. The purpose of this study was to detect any correlation between patient reported outcome measures (PROM) and clinical follow-up measurements. Patients with internal derangement of the TMJ treated with arthroscopic lysis and lavage 2014-2019 were consented for review of medical records and a follow-up PROM-questionnaire.

Hip prosthesis failure prediction through radiological deep sequence learning.

Int J Med Inform

January 2025

Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering, Politecnico di Milano, Via Golgi 39, 20131 Milan, MI, Italy; Cardio Tech-Lab, Centro Cardiologico Monzino IRCCS, Via Carlo Parea 4, 20138 Milan, Italy. Electronic address:

Background: Existing deep learning studies for the automated detection of hip prosthesis failure only consider the last available radiographic image. However, using longitudinal data is thought to improve the prediction, by combining temporal and spatial components. The aim of this study is to develop artificial intelligence models for predicting hip implant failure from multiple subsequent plain radiographs.
