Objective: To investigate clinical staging systems and appropriate treatment strategies for external auditory canal cholesteatoma (EACC).
Methods: We performed comparative analysis of the features of several staging schemes (Holt, Naim, Shin, Chang, Kaneda, Hn, and He) of EACC; retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 44 patients with primary EACC, and analyzed the prognosis.
Results: He's staging system (2019) was found to be particularly clear and practical.

Cavernous hemangiomas of the external auditory canal simultaneously affecting the tympanic membrane are extremely rare. Endoscopic otosurgery has been successfully used for resecting various ear lesions because of its wider surgical field of view and minimal trauma. We report the case of a 50-year-old male patient who presented with a 6-month history of left ear congestion.

Diagnosis typically relies on postoperative pathological assessment. This study investigated the diagnostic utility of the predilection sites and clinical characteristics of MEANTs.
