Objective: Rudimentary otocyst (RO) is characterized by an otic capsule without an internal auditory canal, which is considered a contraindication to cochlear implantation (CI). In this study, we were the first to report two patients with ROs who underwent CI.
Patient: Two patients (18 months old and 2 years old) presenting with bilateral congenital hearing loss were diagnosed with ROs.

Objectives: Intraoperative electrocochleography (ECochG) has provided insight regarding inner ear pathophysiology during neurotologic procedures. In this study, intraoperative ECochG findings are reported in patients who presented with episodic aural and vestibular symptoms during resection of posterior fossa neoplasms.
Patients: Three patients with episodic vertigo who underwent resection of posterior fossa tumors.

To discuss the benefit of using transmastoid slotted labyrinthotomy approach (TSLA) and customized electrode for common cavity deformity (CCD) patients, and to evaluate the audiological outcomes. A retrospective analysis of the intraoperative monitoring data and postoperative auditory outcomes of 10 CCD cases who received cochlear implantation in Beijing Tongren Hospital,Capital Medical University from April 2016 to December 2017, was conducted using TSLA and customized electrod as a test group.At the same time, 10 cases of age and gender matched children with severe or severe sensorineural hearing loss and normal inner ear structures were recorded as a control group.

It has been seen that 20% of children with deafness have inner ear malformations. Studies demonstrate that Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) leakage occurs in 40-50% of patients with inner ear malformations. Differentiating between the various malformations pre-operatively allows the cochlear implant surgeon to plan and prepare for various difficulties associated with the management of such cases.
