Alzheimer's disease and other cognitive impairments are a growing problem in the healthcare world with the ageing population. There are currently no effective treatments available; however, it has been suggested that targeting neuroinflammation may be a successful approach in slowing the progression of neurodegeneration. Reducing the destructive hyperinflammatory pathology to maintain homeostasis in neural tissue is a promising option to consider.

Background: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a primary diagnostic and therapeutic option for pancreaticobiliary pathologies.
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of dexmedetomidine versus propofol during ERCP in cancer patients.
Methods: This randomized controlled single-blinded trial was conducted with 202 cancer patients aged 21 to 60 years, of both sexes, with a body mass index of 18.
Background: Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) can cause pain in the lower back and leg, as well as numbness or weakness in the affected area. Various steroids, including methylprednisolone, are currently used for treatment.
Objectives: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of pulse intravenous infusion of 500 mg methylprednisolone with common non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in relieving pain and improving the clinical condition of patients with lumbar disc herniation.

Background: Women with a history of preeclampsia are at increased risk of developing cardiovascular disease compared with women who had a healthy pregnancy. One potential mechanism underlying this increased risk is microvascular endothelial dysfunction, characterized by reduced nitric oxide (NO)-dependent dilation and is mediated, in part, by increased vasoconstrictor sensitivity to angiotensin II, which persists postpartum. We hypothesized that systemic angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1R) inhibition via once-daily oral losartan treatment would 1) improve endothelium- and NO-dependent dilation, and 2) reduce angiotensin II-mediated vasoconstriction, in the microvasculature of women with a history of preeclampsia.
