Adenovirus-based therapies have encountered significant challenges due to host immunity, particularly from pre-existing antibodies. Many trials have struggled to evade antibody response; however, the efficiency of these efforts was limited by the diversity of antibody Fv-region recognizing multiple amino acid sequences. In this study, we developed an antibody-evading adenovirus vector by encoding a plasma-rich protein transferrin-binding domain.

The CO emission factor is the basis for analyzing vehicle CO emissions. This study establishes a correlation model between the fuel CO emission factor and the mileage-based CO emission factor using fuel consumption data, then analyzes the fuel consumption and CO emission situation of vehicles in Beijing with the established models. The main research conclusions are as follows: The proposed correlation models are effective for analyzing urban vehicle CO emissions.

Numerous studies have highlighted bottom-contact fishing gears as the primary threat to vulnerable marine ecosystems (VMEs). In November 2022, the European Commission closed 87 VME protection polygons to bottom fishing in European waters. Using public automatic identification system (AIS) data, we found an 81% decrease in bottom-contact fishing effort within these areas in the year following the closures.

Macrophages play a central role in antitumor immunity, making them an attractive target for gene therapy strategies. However, macrophages are difficult to transfect because of nucleic acid sensors that can trigger the degradation of foreign plasmid DNA. Here, we developed a macrophage-specific editing (MAGE) system by which compact plasmid DNA encoding a CasRx editor can be delivered to macrophages by a poly(β-amino ester) (PBAE) carrier to bypass the DNA sensor and enable RNA editing in vitro and in vivo.
