Diacylglycerol kinase δ (DGKδ) phosphorylates diacylglycerol to produce phosphatidic acid. Previously, we demonstrated that down-regulation of DGKδ suppresses the myogenic differentiation of C2C12 myoblasts. However, the myogenic roles of DGKδ in vivo remain unclear.

Hsf1 is essential for proteotoxic stress response in smyd1b-deficient embryos and fish survival under heat shock.

Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland, USA.

Article Synopsis
  • Molecular chaperones are essential for maintaining protein balance, and loss of Smyd1b in zebrafish leads to disorganized muscle fibers and increased heat shock protein expression.
  • RNA sequencing revealed that the upregulated heat shock proteins, particularly Hsp70s, are important for myosin folding and assembly in muscle cells.
  • Additionally, Hsf1 is crucial for activating heat shock gene expression during stress, with its absence exacerbating muscle issues in Smyd1b mutants and decreasing survival under heat stress.

Introduction: Orchids are renowned for their intricate floral structures, where sepals and petals contribute significantly to ornamental value and pollinator attraction. In Section , the distinctive curvature of these floral organs enhances both aesthetic appeal and pollination efficiency. However, the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying this trait remain poorly understood.

Infectious diseases drive wild plant evolution and impact crop yield. Plants, like animals, sense biotic threats through pattern recognition receptors (PRRs). Overly robust immune responses can harm plants; thus, understanding the tuning of defense response mechanisms is crucial for developing pathogen-resistant crops.

The authenticity of halal meat is a global issue because pork adulteration occurs. Certain religions, such as Islam and Judaism, prohibit the use of pork in food products. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the volume of trypsin with 10, 50 and 100 μL (20 μg/100 μL) and the digestion time from overnight to 30-120 min to establish a fast and straightforward procedure on proteomic analysis for halal authentication of meat and meat products.
