We report a case of persistent consciousness disturbance due to non-convulsive status epilepticus (NCSE) following a successful mechanical thrombectomy (MT). A 98-year-old female with atrial fibrillation presented with impaired consciousness and right hemiparesis 6 hrs after her last known well state. Magnetic resonance angiography revealed occlusion of the left internal carotid artery, necessitating MT to achieve complete recanalisation.

Moyamoya disease (MMD) is characterized by distinct histopathological changes in intracranial arteries, such as narrowing of the arterial lumen due to thickening of the tunica intima, waving of the internal elastic membranes, and thinning of the tunica media. Ring finger protein 213 is a susceptibility gene for MMD that affects clinical outcomes. However, little is known about its relationship with histopathology.

Purpose: When performed for clinically significant carotid artery stenosis (CAS), the long-term impact of carotid endarterectomy (CEA) on choroidal and choriocapillaris (CC) circulation was studied using swept-source OCT angiography.
Design: Prospective observational study.
Participants: Patients with clinically significant CAS undergoing unilateral CEA.

Objective: To examine the role of noninvasive testing (NIT) before invasive coronary angiography (ICA) by evaluating the association between a positive myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) or computed tomography angiography (CTA) result and the decision to perform coronary revascularization.
Patients And Methods: We screened all patients who received ICA between August 1, 2015, and July 31, 2019, and identified those who received MPI or CTA within the preceding 12 months. We considered MPI to be a positive result if it found moderate or severe ischemia in a specific coronary territory and CTA to be a positive result if it identified a stenosis greater than 50% in any major coronary artery.

Ischemic stroke is one of the major emergency diseases leading to death and disability worldwide, characterized by its acute onset and the urgent need for prompt medical intervention to reduce mortality and long-term disability. Chronic terminal internal carotid artery and/or middle cerebral artery occlusion (CTI/MCAO) is an important subtype of intracranial artery occlusive disease. The superficial temporal artery-to-MCA (STA-MCA) bypass has been proposed to improve cerebral blood flow (CBF) and cerebrovascular reserve (CVR), potentially enhancing neurological outcomes.
