Background: Uterus transplantation from deceased donors offers a promising solution to the organ shortage, but optimal preservation methods are crucial for successful outcomes. Our primary objective is to conduct an initial assessment of the contribution of oxygenated hypothermic perfusion in uterine transplantation.
Methods: We performed a preclinical study on a porcine model of controlled donation after circulatory death (60 min warm ischemia).

Considerable attention has been devoted to investigating whether acute activation of the sympathetic nervous system, triggered by daily life stressors, increases central artery stiffness (CAS). Overt sex differences in sympathetic neurovascular transduction lead to distinct cardiovascular responses to sympathoexcitation in men versus women. Our study aimed to determine if the cold pressor test (CPT), chosen to simulate highly painful stressors individuals encounter daily, would induce CAS augmentation in a sex-balanced cohort of young individuals and whether any observed CAS increase would differ between sexes.

Objectives: To analyze the prevalence and factors associated with potential clinically significant drug interactions (pDDIs) in a coronary care unit and to describe clinical management for reducing the occurrence of pDDIs.
Methods: A cross-sectional and analytical study was conducted on 120 patients aged≥18 years and who had used two or more medications who were admitted to coronary care unit at a high-complexity hospital in Campinas, São Paulo, Brazil. Participants were recruited consecutively from May 2018 to April 2019.

Left atrial veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (LAVA-ECMO) in cardiogenic shock (CS) is a novel mechanical cardiocirculatory support strategy that provides robust cardiocirculatory support and simultaneous left and right atrial venting by way of a multifenestrated transeptal catheter. We performed a single-center retrospective analysis of all patients aged ≥18 years with CS who underwent LAVA-ECMO at a quaternary care institution from 2018 to 2023. Clinical outcomes and prehemodynamics and posthemodynamics were evaluated.
