Aims: To assess the prevalence of possible sarcopenia and sarcopenic obesity phenotypes and investigate their association with self-reported diabetes among community-dwelling individuals aged 45 or above.
Methods: Utilizing data from 62,899 individuals in LASI wave-1 (2017-18), the assessment of possible sarcopenia was done on two critical parameters: muscle (handgrip) strength and physical performance (gait speed), following the 2019 guidelines from the Asian working group on sarcopenia (AWGS). BMI, WC, WHR, and WHtR defined sarcopenic obesity phenotypes.

Exogenous genes are inserted into target cells during gene therapy in order to compensate or rectify disorders brought on by faulty or aberrant genes. However, gene therapy is still in its early stages because of its unsatisfactory therapeutic effects which are mainly due to low transfection efficiency of vectors, high toxicity, and poor target specificity. A natural polymer with numerous bioactive sites, good mechanical qualities, biodegradability, biocompatibility, and processability called silk fibroin has gained attention as a possible gene therapy vector.

In contrast, lucid dreaming allows to become aware of the current state of mind, often accompanied by considerable control over the ongoing dream episode. The efficiency of kinase inhibiting cancer therapeutics is often limited by their poor solubility in water. PEGylation is one possible strategy to improve the solubility of the drug, however, means to cleave these after reaching the target is important to make use of the therapeutic effects of the native drug. Moreover, the length of the PEG chains will have an effect on the solubility and binding.
