Background: Chronic periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) presents a major challenge in knee arthroplasty, with varying success rates reported for two-stage exchange arthroplasty (EA) and a lack of consensus on managing failures from such procedures. This study evaluated repeat two-stage EA outcomes for knee PJI after initial treatment failure to identify the risk factors for reimplantation unsuitability and reinfection.
Methods: We analyzed 114 patients who underwent repeat EA for chronic knee PJI between 2010 and 2018.

The proportion of railway high-altitude buried tunnels in complex and dangerous mountainous areas in southwest China is exceptionally high. With the characteristics of suddenness, intermittency, instantaneousness, and destruction, inrushinrushing and collapse is one of the main risks in the tunnel construction process. Therefore, in the design and construction process of tunnels in Hengduan Mountain area, it is very important to identify the mechanism of sudden s inrushing and collapse risks, predict the spatial location and scale of possible inrushing and collapse, and formulate corresponding tunnel design and construction response measures.

Joint arthrodesis is a very common surgical approach in foot and ankle surgery at various anatomic levels. Several techniques have demonstrated the ability to provide successful fusion with appropriate preparation of the joint in question. With that in mind, the joint preparation, regardless of approach or instrumentation, is consistently the most time-consuming.

Introduction: Aedes-borne arboviral infections, both imported and autochthonous, are reported in Europe. We evaluated the landscape of these infections in Europe over 23 years and attempted to pre-empt the trajectory of impact of these infections in the climatic context of Aedes mosquito expansion in Europe.
Methods: This systematic review was conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines and registered in Prospero (CRD42023360259).

From the 1950s to the present, the main tool for obtaining fungal industrial producers of secondary metabolites remains the so-called classical strain improvement (CSI) methods associated with multi-round random mutagenesis and screening for the level of target products. As a result of the application of such techniques, the yield of target secondary metabolites in high-yielding (HY) strains was increased hundreds of times compared to the wild-type (WT) parental strains. However, the events that occur at the molecular level during CSI programs are still unknown.
