Background: Dating violence is an increasingly studied subject as it is related to the initial stages of what could later become intimate partner violence and even intrafamily violence. It is believed that love can cause behavioral patterns that will eventually become habits.
The Objective: of this study is to have valid and reliable instruments, adapted to different contexts, to accurately and promptly evaluate victims and aggressors and guide an appropriate intervention.

Family violence is a critical public health problem in Latin America. In Peru, family violence continues to be difficult to detect and prevent, with child-to-parent violence (CPV) arising as a key issue. This study aimed to do a psychometric adaptation of a brief scale of evaluation of CPV and intrafamily violence in a sample of Peruvian adolescents.

Experimental and in silico PCR analysis targeting ISAba11 and TnAbaR islands in 196 epidemiologically unrelated Acinetobacter strains representative of ≥19 species were performed. The first two Acinetobacter baumannii ISAba11 elements identified had been found to map to the same site on TnAbaR transposons. However, no further evidence of physical linkage between the two elements was demonstrated.

The biological role in vivo of the homologous CD3gamma and delta invariant chains within the human TCR/CD3 complex is a matter of debate, as murine models do not recapitulate human immunodeficiencies. We have characterized, in a Turkish family, two new patients with complete CD3gamma deficiency and SCID symptoms and compared them with three CD3gamma-deficient individuals belonging to two families from Turkey and Spain. All tested patients shared similar immunological features such as a partial TCR/CD3 expression defect, mild alphabeta and gammadelta T lymphocytopenia, poor in vitro proliferative responses to Ags and mitogens at diagnosis, and very low TCR rearrangement excision circles and CD45RA(+) alphabeta T cells.

This study describes the phenotype/genotype analysis of 159 probands with neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (37 CLN1, 72 classic CLN2, 10 variant LINCL, and 40 CLN3) collected at the New York State Institute for Basic Research in Developmental Disabilities (IBR). Phenotype/genotype comparison showed that mutations in the CLN1 gene were associated with different phenotypes: infantile, late infantile, and juvenile. Two common mutations (223A-->C and 451C-->T) were found in 26 of 37 CLN1 subjects (64% of alleles examined).
