Background And Objectives: Stage IV grade C localized periodontitis (pre-puberal localized aggressive periodontitis/LPP) is a rare form of inflammatory periodontal disease occurring in clinically healthy individuals (no/small calculus/dental plaque traces), due a hyper-aggressive auto-immune response to high amounts of bacteria present in the oral cavity.

Case Presentation: This case report describes a 4-year-old Caucasian girl with localized gingival inflammation and advanced bone loss around the temporary lower left canine. The first diagnostic assumption was hypophosphatasia, and the patient was sent for further genetic and metabolic investigations (which turned out to be negative).

We describe the case of an 11-year-old, previously healthy, pre-puberal, right-handed girl with acquired aphasia following an extensive cerebral hemorrhage into a left hemisphere brain tumor. A 3-year follow-up evaluation of the girl's communicative performance showed an incomplete recovery of linguistic abilities with a good recovery of comprehensive components, but persisting severe impairment in expressive language. At the end of the follow-up period, with the aim of assessing the lateralization of some linguistic abilities, we carried out an experimental investigation using tachistoscopic reading and object naming tests along with a dichotic listening test.

The guideline of this work is to examine the diagnostic value of laparoscopy in some endocrine and genetic syndromes connected with gonadal pathology or abnormal sexual development in relation to the various hormonal and cytogenetic techniques usually utilized by the endocrinologist. After a brief introduction, Chapter 1 stresses our purpose to examine the advantages and limits of laparoscopy by investigating the most significant cases that came to our observation. Attention is drawn in Chapter 2 to the application of laparoscopy in a particular form of amenorrhea (uterus absence), admittedly of great endocrinologic interest.
